On March 18, 2026, members of our Maker Space participated in a hands-on first aid and emergency response training session facilitated by an expert from Chalmers University of Technology. The training aimed to strengthen safety awareness and equip participants with practical lifesaving skills essential for responding effectively during emergencies.
The session combined both theoretical guidance and practical exercises, allowing participants to actively engage in real-life emergency response scenarios. Key areas covered during the training included CPR practice, bleeding control, wound care, and emergency response procedures. Through guided demonstrations and hands-on activities, participants gained valuable experience in how to assess situations, provide immediate assistance, and respond confidently in critical moments.
The CPR training focused on proper chest compression techniques, response timing, and basic procedures that can help sustain life before professional medical assistance arrives. Participants also learned methods for controlling severe bleeding, managing injuries, and applying basic wound care techniques in emergency situations.
Beyond technical knowledge, the training emphasized the importance of preparedness, teamwork, and rapid decision-making in ensuring community safety. For innovation spaces such as Maker Spaces, where individuals work with tools, machinery, electronics, and experimental equipment, maintaining a strong culture of safety remains essential.
The training reflects our continued commitment to creating not only an environment of creativity and innovation, but also one where safety, responsibility, and community wellbeing are prioritized. Equipping innovators and makers with emergency response skills contributes to building a more prepared and resilient community capable of responding effectively when unexpected situations arise.
Through collaborations with international partners and experts, opportunities such as this training continue to enhance knowledge exchange and practical learning within our Maker Space ecosystem. The session also reinforced the idea that innovation and safety must go hand in hand in fostering productive and sustainable creative environments.
As our Maker Space continues to grow as a hub for experimentation, learning, and collaboration, initiatives focused on health, safety, and preparedness remain an important part of supporting both personal wellbeing and responsible innovation practices.
