Who we are
A university hub for Industry 4.0 making
UR UNIPOD (University Innovation Pod) is based at the University of Rwanda. It is an open collaborative space for digital fabrication, advanced labs, entrepreneurship pathways, and industry collaboration.
As a UniPod within the UNDP timbuktoo pan-African initiative, UNIPOD helps bridge academic learning with practical application - supporting tech transfer, intellectual property awareness, and youth-led innovation.

timbuktoo network
Part of a pan-African innovation system
timbuktoo is a pan-African initiative of UNDP. It aims to catalyse opportunities in Africa's startup trends for sustainable, inclusive outcomes for youth innovation entrepreneurs.
The model uses a hub-and-spoke approach with thematic Hubs supported by University Pods (UniPods). UniPods - including UR UNIPOD - sit inside technical public universities and act as incubators for student and youth innovators.
